Planning and Electrical Projects

Idaho Power considers population and the future need for energy when deciding when and where to build new power plants, lines and substations.

We work with customers, local governments, businesses, and interest groups to develop plans for new infrastructure to meet energy needs. Where possible, we build these facilities in areas with minimal impact on customers.

We forecast our customers’ energy needs over the next 20 years and examine the best ways to meet that demand.
